All children are expected to carry out such 'at home' tasks during the school week as requested by the teacher. These will include mathematics, spelling, reading or some written task. The combination of these may vary.

During this time your participation in the homework process is actively encouraged. Aside from specified activities, spending time with your child in reading, sharing, talking, listening, making and doing are all invaluable 'at home' activities.

If your child is unable to complete any required work, please ensure that the teacher is informed of the reason.

Generally, there is no homework on weekends unless it is something that should have been completed during normal school time.

Reasons for homework

  1. to establish sound study habits
  2. to promote independence
  3. to support classroom programs
  4. to practice new concepts learnt and revise old ones.
