Welcome to Farleigh State School. The theme of our prospectus is typified in our school motto, " UNITED WE ACHIEVE". As you read the pages of the Prospectus it will hopefully provide you with a clear picture of Education in its entirety at Farleigh State School. This document aims to show how we can collectively mould positive futures for our children. We have endeavoured to highlight the beliefs and expectations of staff, parents, children and community in our caring and supportive environment.
Farleigh State School is proud to provide its students with an education in a holistic and nurturing manner with quality, realistic programs. As a small school, we deliver our curriculum through multi-age classes, a variety of small group and individual program structures. We are committed to providing learning programs that cater for the diversity of students: from those in need of learning support to the gifted and talented. Our team efforts to achieve this are supported by an exceptionally experienced and dedicated team of staff members who interact closely with the students and their families.
We believe strongly in developing each individual child to his/her full potential - be it academically, physically, socially, emotionally, culturally or creatively. By our comprehensive knowledge of each child, we attempt to accomplish this end without imposing unrealistic expectations upon the learner.
Our school motto, "United We Achieve", as well as the School Mission Statement, "Link Learning to Life," exemplifies the need for all the stakeholders in the educational process (teachers, parents, community, children) to work harmoniously together to ensure quality education prevails at our campus.
Our academic program is complemented and supported by a wide range of sporting, recreational and cultural activities. Because of the smaller student population, more students have the opportunities to excel in academic, cultural and athletic arenas. As a learning community we are committed to being up to date with educational innovation yet combine this with our programs that are tried and successful. We endeavour to make learning exciting for all our students.
You are welcome to visit the school to discuss your child's progress at any mutually convenient time. You can also be involved in any number of ways that will directly or indirectly benefit your child and the school. As a P & C member, classroom helper, tuckshop volunteer or some other committee member, you are making a valuable contribution to your child's education and positively affecting it.
I look forward to working with you in the education of your child at Farleigh State School.
Yours faithfully.
